    Gum Bleaching &          Tooth Whitening

Gum bleaching, also known as gum depigmentation, uses a gentle dental laser to essentially remove excess pigmentation from the area.

Teeth whitening is a simple process. These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, to make your teeth brighter.

         Tooth Gems

Tiny jewels and rhinestones, usually just a few millimeters, in size, applied to the tooth with an adhesive.

Meet The Doctor

Dr. Calloway attended Howard University as a National Merit Scholar and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She also completed her dental degree at Howard University's College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. on an academic scholarship.

Dr. Calloway scored in the top 5% of the country on her National Dental Boards and had the highest scores of her class.

While in dental school, Dr. Calloway was deeply involved in dental research. She was a Colgate-Palmolive National Dental Association Foundation Research Fellow at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Her research project involved studying salivary glands in rats, located in the back of the tongue. These glands are also present in humans, but not much is known about them. The purpose of the project was to see if the information could be useful in the future with people who had cancer in their larger salivary glands. Her research paper was subsequently published in the Archives of Oral Biology.

Dr. Calloway's post-graduate research was with the African-American Burial Ground Project. The remains of African-American slaves were uncovered in downtown New York and donated to Howard University for study and analysis.

"It was an honor and a privilege to be able to examine the remains of our ancestors. The skulls and jaw bones had to be handled very gently due to their age and fragile condition. It was a thrilling experience that I will never forget,” said Dr. Calloway.

Dr. Calloway has lectured at several dental meetings on the findings of both research projects. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Calloway was bestowed an unprecedented honor. She was selected by the Dean of the College of Dentistry to be the keynote speaker for the opening ceremonies of the College of Dentistry. This was the first time a newly graduated doctor had ever been selected in the history of the dental school to speak at the occasion. It is usually reserved for someone who has been practicing for several years.

Before relocating to Georgia, Dr. Calloway practiced orthodontics for five years in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Her practice philosophy is, "To provide excellent service in a caring and efficient manner."

Dr. Calloway is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Pi Pi chapter.

Dr. Calloway is a native of Columbus, GA. She has been in private practice in Decatur, GA since 2005.
